Talk on Ban on Plastic and Importance of Herbal Garden

Motive-To make aware students about harmful effects of plastic on environment.
Report-A talk on Ban on Plastic and Importance of Herbal Garden was organised by Nature Eco Club of Hindu Kanya College which was addressed by Seema Thakur, Head Department of History. She informed that Plastic is non biodegradable element which is harmful for animals and human beings. Further, this is equally harmful for air when is burnt and hazardous to ocean creatures when it is disposed of in the sea. Substitutes of plastic carry bags are cotton and jute bags. Mrs. Seema advised students not to carry plastic bags and thus contribute in safe environment drive. She also advised the students to protect and maintain Herbal Garden in the college. Herbal Plants like Tulsi, Aloevera, Ginger, Garlic, Ajwain, Haldi, Mehndi and Pudina are commonly found yet very beneficial medicinal plants which
are useful in giving first aid treatment.
Outcome-Through this activity, students got important information about adverse impact of plastic on environment and utility of herbal plants.
