Alumnae Meet
Motive - The motive of an old students' meet in Hindu Kanya College could be to provide an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their former classmates and faculty members, to reminisce about their college days, and to share their experiences and achievements since graduation.
Report - Alumni meet was organized on 28th May 2022 by HKCian Alumnae Association of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala in which Principal of the College, Dr. Archana Garg presided over the function as the Chief Guest. Total 108 alumnae participated in the meet. Dr. Nitya Sharma, Deputy Controller, Examinations, Punjab Technical University and Secretary Alumnae Association, Mrs. Geeta Ghai, Proprietor, Titlee Designer House and member, Alumnae Association, Ms. Jatinder Lally, English Mistress and Block Mentor, Block -2, Kapurthala, Education Department, Punjab and Member, Alumnae association and Mrs. Jaswant Kaur, Assistant Professor, Physical Education, Hindu Kanya College and Vice President, Alumnae Association performed the ritual of lighting the pious Jyoti. Students from Music Department, Ms. Neha and group performed a welcome song 'Ji Aayaan Nu'. Dr. Monica Aggarwal, Director and Professor, University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Punjab University, Chandigarh and President, Alumni Association delivered the welcome address. Madam Suvit Das, Assistant Professor, Commerce, Hindu Kanya College and a member of the Alumni Association read out the report of the college in which the achievements of the college were mentioned in detail. A PPT titled 'Yadein' was shared to refresh the memories of the old students. Taranpreet's 'Ajib Dastan' and Sufi Kalam ' by students of Music department, Je Tu Aakhyan de samne Nahi Rehna,Te Biba Saada Dil Moar De' mesmerized the audience. A Dance was presented by our Alumnae Chanpreet Kaur and Rajwinder Kaur . Many interesting games were also arranged to engage the Alumnae. Our alumnae Ms. Ruby Walia, A Certified Yoga Instructor and Owner of a Saloon based in USA, Ms. Sandeep Bhandal, A Registered Nurse and Safety and Compliance Officer in her husband's business based in Canada and Ms. Manju Bala, Finance Controller, Arresico Limited, England expressed their feelings through video messages. Later the highlight of the program was 'Alumni Modeling Competition' in which Alumnae took part enthusiastically. Alumnae Ms. Geeta Ghai, Ms. Santosh Basra and Ms. Sukhwinder Kaur were the Judges of the Ramp Walk. Teachers of the college also gave an enthralling dance performance. Principal Dr. Archna Garg urged the Alumnae to remain in contact with their Alma Mater and encouraged them to contribute their expertise for the welfare and development of the college. Mrs. Jaswant Kaur, Vice - President, Alumnae Association thanked all the alumnae for accepting the humble invitation and gracing the occasion.
Outcome - An old students' meet can be a positive experience for alumni, current students, and the college community as a whole. It provides an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, share their experiences, and give back to their alma mater.
