Living embodiment of courage, determination and hardwork Mallika Handa, renowned Chess Player was honoured during Induction Programme. On 3rd September 2022, an Induction Program "Know Your College" was arranged for the First Year Students of all streams to acquaint the new entrants of the college about academic and co - academic facilities and support services available in the college. Dr. Jasdeep Kaur, Priyanka Sharma and Er. Inderjit Kaur Bal highlighted the diverse avenues of department of Languages, Commerce and CS & IT respectively . Further, Varinder Kaur from Social Sciences, Sarika Kanda, Convener, Skill based Subjects, Mukti from Physical Education elaborated the importance, relevance and job opportunities available for the aspirants in their respective subjects. Lt (Dr) Rajwinder Kaur explained the scope and opportunities of NCC. Dr. Amam Jyoti enlightened the students about NSS, Red Cross, Red Ribbon Club and all other societies, clubs and units working and encouraged them to actively. participate in the activities of these clubs, societies and units . Dr. Anupam Sabharwal gave a brief overview of college code of conduct to the students. They were also told about the library facilities & other college facilities. These sessions were followed by an ice- breaking segment comprising engaging games by Mukti, Lecturer in Physical Education and Rubal, Lecturer in Physics to rejuvenate students' energy. Students were also motivated to participate in co - curricular activities and sports activities. S. Gurbachan Singh, Incharge, Traffic Education, Kapurthala Police advised the students to sincerely follow traffic rules to save their precious lives. Madam Principal, Dr. Archna Garg informed the students that induction programme is organised every year to acquaint students with the courses, subjects, units, clubs and societies available in the college. She also motivated them to set their goal to succeed in life for their holistic development. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Head, Department of Hindi and Dr. Jasdeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Punjabi coordinated the stage. In the end, saplings were distributed to the students to make them aware about the importance of planting trees by Nature - Eco club.
