Celebrating 13th National voters day
National Voters Day celebrated at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala
Motive-.Making students aware of vote.The right to vote gives the citizens the power to elect leaders of their choice and hold the elected leaders accountable. So that anyone who wishes to become a leader can become one.
Report-On the theme of "Nothing like Voting, I vote for sure", Department of Social Sciences of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala observed 13th National Voter's Day by organizing an Essay Writing Competition in which students expressed their valuable views on the importance of vigilant voting for selecting their political representatives righteously. Taniya of 10 +1, Parminder Kaur of B.A.-2nd Semester and Riya of 10+2 were declared the best entries from Punjabi, Hindi and English mediums respectively. The conference hall echoed with the motivational song, "Mein Bharat hoon, Bharat hain mujhme" released by The Election Comission of India on the occasion. Students were also made to participate in the Voter's pledge ceremony in which all students took a pledge to cast their vote as responsible citizens. Mrs. Seema Rani, Head, Department of Social Sciences organized this event with the coordination of the faculty of her department. Dr. Archna Garg, Principal appreciated this initiative and asked the students to remain alert and active while casting votes and to contribute their valuable services and suggestions for the betterment of society.
