Celebrating International Nonviolence Day
Motive-Nonviolence is the personal practice of not causing harm to others under any condition. It may come from the belief that hurting people, animals and/or the environment is unnecessary to achieve an outcome and it may refer to a general philosophy of abstention from violence.
Report-Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala celebrated International Day of Non-Violence by recording an inspirational video on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti to spread the philosophy and teachings of Gandhiji. Mrs. Seema Rani, Head, Department of History in her special video elaborated Gandhiji's ideas that a change can be brought in the whole world by following a humble and non-violent life style. While highlighting Gandhi's principles, she explained that Non - Violence is the peaceful but powerful weapon of the brave. Gandhi ji strongly opposed the violence of mind, speech and action. She further stressed that on this occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, all our countrymen must take a pledge to stand against all kinds of violence so that every problem can be solved by peaceful means.
Outcome-Non-violence is a weapon of the strong. Non-violence and truth are inseparable and presuppose one another. We may never be strong enough to be entirely nonviolent in thought, word and deed. But we must keep nonviolence as our goal and make strong progress towards it.
