Celebration of Constitution Day

The Department of Social Sciences of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala celebrated the " National Constitution Day" to educate students about the importance of the Indian Constitution and to raise awareness about their duties. On this occasion, Mrs. Varinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, addressed the students and highlighted the significance of National Constitution Day. She explained that the Indian Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26, 1950, to ensure the smooth functioning of the country. She also mentioned that the Indian Constitution is the longest in the world and was originally handwritten in Hindi and English. The Preamble to the Constitution is its soul, providing insight into the Constitution's principles and objectives.On the occasion of Constitution Day, students took an oath to fulfill their duties as ideal citizens, protect the unity and integrity of the nation, and uphold the principles of the Constitution.

Motive- To commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution, promoting awareness, understanding, and reverence for the foundational document that upholds the country's democratic values and principles.

Outcome-It heightened the sense of patriotism, civic awareness, and commitment to upholding the principles of justice, equality, and democracy enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
