Commemoration of World Environment Day
Eco Club of the college , Kapurthala celebrated 'World Environment Day' under the guidance of the Environment Education Programme (EEP), Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change by organizing a Two- Day Workshop on 'Best Out of Waste' on 4th and 5th June 2025. During this event, Mrs. Seema Rani, Coordinator of the Eco Club enlightened students about the importance of various environment protecting initiatives like saving paper, discouraging the use of single use plastic and planting more and more trees. In the workshop, Ms. Ravina, Member, Eco Club demonstrated before students the innovative ways to prepare paper bags from the old newspapers. Thereafter, students took pledge under the supervision of Dr. Veena, Member of the Eco Club, to protect environment by reducing wastage of paper and reusing it optimally.
Motive: 1. To raise awareness among students about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
2. To promote eco-friendly habits, such as reducing paper waste and reusing materials.
3. To inspire students to take action against single-use plastic and promote sustainable living.
Outcome: Students learned innovative ways to reuse and recycle waste materials, such as making paper bags from old newspapers. They took a pledge to protect the environment by reducing paper waste and adopting eco-friendly practices. The workshop empowered students to become more environmentally conscious and responsible, promoting a sustainable future.
