Declamation Competition on World AIDS DAY
Red Ribbon Club of the College observed World AIDS Day by organising a Declamation Competition on the topic, 'AIDS- Awareness and Precautions'. Students exhibited the oratory flair and highlighted the causes of AIDS and precautionary measures to be adopted to stop the spread of the deadly disease and also won positions. Kirandeep Kaur from 10+1 (Commerce) of Chetna House secured the 1st position, Sharanpreet Kaur from 10+2( Medical) of Pragati House and Mandeep Kaur from 10+2( Commerce) of Kirti House got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur from the P.G Department of Punjabi and Ms. Sunaina from the Department of English adjudged the participants. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Convener, Red Ribbon Club congratulated the winners and motivated students to stay vigilant and safeguard themselves and their loved ones from the life threatening disease like AIDS.
Outcome: Students got a platform to spread awareness regarding the life threatening disease HIV-AIDS. They learnt how to express their viewpoint and suggestions effectively. Their oratory and presentation skills also got improved.
