Department of Home Science organised an Extension Lecture on the topic Therapeutic Diet- Modification of Normal Diet on 17th April 2023 to encourage the students to have a healthy and nutritional diet. Addressing the students, Dt. Shagun Garg from Garg's Diet Clinic, Kapurthala elaborated on the meaning and importance of therapeutic diet. She focused on the causes, symptoms and treatment of common diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes and Constipation and advised to increase the intake of high fiber, whole grain cereals and low-fat diet to lead a healthy life style. The resource person quenched the queries of the students satisfactorily.
Motive -To enlighten the students regarding healthy and nutritious diet
Outcomes -Students learnt the causes, symptoms , treatment and control of diseases like hypertension, diabetes and constipation.
