Motive: To inform the students about the importance of ancient historical sources.

Report: History department of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized an online seminar on the Topic "Importance of the sources of ancient Indian history"The resource person enlightened the students that literary sources help to picture the ancient economic, religious, ruling, culture and norms of primitive and old India. Further he elaborated that archaeological sources inform us about the social life, religious beliefs, the culture and the knowledge of the people and about the period in which the monuments were built. Temples, forts, palaces, stupas, and monasteries make the past come alive. These are the important parts which help us in getting closer to our ancient history.
