*Report on Mehndi Competition organised to celebrate Teej festival*

On 10th August 2022, Cosmetology Department of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, celebrated "Teej" dedicated to girls and to witness the importance of auspicious Savan Month. Students showed their enthusiasm by wearing colorful clothes and adorning their hands with mehndi. Mehndi Competition was also organised in the college campus .
Ms. Harsimran Kaur, Ms. Maninder Kaur, Ms. Muskan Begum secured the first, second and third position respectively. Ms. Bhumika and Ms. Shalini got the consolation prizes. Dr. Ritu Gupta, Head of English Department and Madam Sarika Kanda, Head of Home Science Department, adjudged the competition.

Motive:
The motive of the competition was to celebrate the Teej festival, which is
dedicated to girls and to witness the importance of auspicious Savan month.
Also To provide a platform to the students on which they can showcase their talent of mehndi.

Outcome:
Girls got the opportunity to apply mehndi on their hands on the festival of Teej, Because Applying mehndi on Hariyali Teej is considered a ritualistic practice.
Also Inculcated a spirit of positive competition in students.
