*National Unity Day*
On 31st October 2022, NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala celebrated National Unity Day to foster and reinforce dedication to preserve unity, integrity and security of the nation. The day was celebrated to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the Iron Man of India : Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who always believed in the strong and united India. A pledge taking ceremony was organized in the college campus in which Dr. Amanjyoti, NSS Programme Officer motivated students to materialize the philosophy laid by Sardar Patel. A Unity Run to promote national spirit was also flagged off by Principal Dr. Archna Garg in which students and staff participated enthusiastically and covered the area from College to Shalimar Gardens and way back to the college. Madam Principal appreciated the efforts made by the NSS Units to spread the message of national unity and integrity.

The purpose of celebrating Unity Day was to make the students aware of national unity, integrity and security. Along with this, it was to be told that National Unity Day is celebrated on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday.

Outcome - Through this activity, students came to know that National Integration Day is celebrated as the birthday of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On this occasion, students were informed about the duty of a good citizen by administering oath to protect the unity and integrity of the country.
