NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala observed NSS Day on 24th September 2025 by staging a Nukkad Natak to spread awareness amongst students regarding the environmental hazards. The play emphasized that Punjab, the country’s grain bowl, is battling one of its worst floods in decades, which have impacted nearly four lakh people, claimed 48 lives, affected about 2,000 villages, and resulted in an estimated loss of over ₹13,000 crore. Students presented how the heavy rains remained the primary triggers to devastate the farmer's hardwork and human life in general. Students through their superb performance pinpointed the major causes of the floods like human interventions, including blocked drainage systems due to water pollution, excessive use of plastic, human encroachments near river banks and other unregulated construction activities. Students urged the audience to avoid these shortcomings.
