Department of Economics organized an Online Webinar on 19th June 2021 under the aegis of IQAC . Dr. Ravi Inder Singh, Professor in Finance University, Business School, Punjab University, Regional Campus, Ludhiana was the Resource person. He reflected on his profound knowledge of “Atmanirbhar Bharat – Challenges and the way forward”. He developed his thoughts in a systematic manner, taking into account the Indian Economy, and suggested a way to achieve the aim of transforming India. He explained de-liberalization in the current policies followed by countries across the world, unlike the Liberalisation of the past two decades. He also enlightened the audience on the world‘s Economy. He concluded his session by highlighting the challenges of a self-reliant strategy in India. It was followed by an interactive question-answer session where different participants put their questions and quenched their thirst for knowledge up to the level of satisfaction.

Motive:- To apprise the beneficiaries about the scheme Atam Nirbhar Bharat initiated by the Government of India to boost the Indian economy and to promote the spirit of self-reliance. The webinar was aimed to highlight the challenges before the Indian economy and to offer feasible solutions.
Outcome: Participants learned about the different aspects of the “Atmanirbhar Bharat Scheme” and related concepts like the Ease of Doing Business Index, Global Hunger Index, and inequality of income and wealth with reference to India.
