This Mega Show was organized to promote Punjabi Literature, Legacy, Culture and Folk Music and to enthuse present generation feel proud of their roots and heritage.
Outcome: This gala event “Saddi Boli Sadde Geet” commemorating ‘Punjabi Month’ organized jointly by Bhasha Manch and Department of Music at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala promoted Punjabi rich Literature, Legacy, Culture and Folk Music and encouraged students to attach themselves with their roots and rich heritage of Punjab. A leading literary figure, Dr. Lakhwinder Johal, President, Punjab Sahit Academy and Secretary, Punjab Kala Parishad presided over the function as Chief Guest who inspired students to feel proud of the rich diversity of Punjabi Culture and Customs. Mrs. Glory Bawa, a renowned Punjabi singer and Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, District Language Officer, Kapurthala graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. Mrs. Bawa enthralled the audience and exhibited her expertise in folk songs. Sh. Surinder Singh Sunnar, renowned Punjabi poet from America, encouraged students to contribute their potential and creativity in sustaining the traditional legacy of Punjabi Heritage. Quiz and musical performances promoting Punjabi language, literature, culture and music increased the conceptual knowledge of the students. On this occasion, an Exhibition displaying traditional Punjabi articles, jewellery, vessels and models also made students aware about their ethnic origin and traditions.
