Teacher’s Day Celebration

Teachers and Students share an eternal bond of mutual understanding, unparalleled love and staunch faith in one another's calibre. Commemorating this unconditional relationship and for paying heart felt tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India's second President and a remarkable teacher on his birthday, *Teachers' Day* was celebrated with great gusto at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala. Students of final year from degree classes attired themselves as their favourite teachers and performed the role of their role models. Special activities and competitions were arranged for the teachers to show their hidden talent, motor and presentation skills like Rangoli, Hair styling, Salad making and Carrom and other fun filled Games. Reena Salota from Department of English got first position in Rangoli Competition and Davinder Kaur from Department of Commerce got first position in Salad Making Competition. Hair Style Competition was won by Tanya Goel from the Department of Computer Science and IT . In the game of Carrom, first position was jointly attained by Dr. Neetu Bhargav of Commerce Department, Varinder Kaur from Political Science Department and Sapna Bhalla from English Department. From Non- Teaching Staff, Carrom game winners were Sanjeev Sharma and Mukesh Seth. A special game of Musical Chair was also arranged for the Menial Staff which was won by Sukhdev and Jasbir Kaur. Teachers were bestowed with special hashtags by the students. A Ramp walk of teachers and the students was also arranged. Many on stage games like Pickup slips, Guess the Word, Riddles and Compatibility game were also enjoyed by the teachers. On this occasion, students also presented variety of items. Sukhmanjot and Sukhraj recited poems paying tribute to teachers. Taranpreet Kaur and Davinder presented songs to make the moment memorable. Kulwinder and group enthralled the audience with their foot tapping dance performance. A choreography depicting teachers' role in moulding students' life was also staged by the students. A memory game was also organised for the Non- Teaching Staff. The whole programme was well coordinated by Dr. Anupam Sabharwal. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur winded up the function with her motivational nuggets of wisdom and appreciated the staff and students for making this event a cherishable one.
