Workshop on 'Healthy Millet Based Cakes'
'International Year of Millets-2023' and 'National Nutrition Month- 2023' was observed by the Department of Home Science by organising a One- Day Workshop on 'Healthy Millet Based Cakes'. Mrs. Sarika Kanda, Head of the Home Science Department enlightened the students about the importance of millets, their variants and nutritional benefits. Mr. Karamjit Singh, Bakery and Pastry Chef from Rana Cooking School, Jalandhar with his team demonstrated the recipes for baking three types of cakes namely ambrosial Christmas cake and scrumptious super healthy millet based cake and vanilla sponge cake with icing.
Outcome : Students learnt the recipes of baking delicious , healthy and nutritious cakes made out of millet for different occasions. They realised the significance of adding millet in daily diet for improving blood circulation and boosting immunity. The workshop and valuable demonstration enhanced students' practical skills and experiential learning.
