Dr. Bhuwneshwari and Dr. Ripika, Medical Laboratory Technician from Civil Hospital, Kapurthala, conducted the general checkup of the villagers. They examined their haemoglobin level, suggested them medicines and offered precautionary measures to address health issues promptly. Aim- To improve the overall health and well-being of the villagers, promote preventive care, and bridge the healthcare gap in rural areas. Auspicious Path of Shri Sukhmani Sahib

Students' Fest-2026 : Vidyarthi Utsav

Students' Fest 'Vidyarthi Utsav' was organized at the College.This fest was organized for the entertainment of the students. Smt. Anupam Kler, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Kapurthala graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest inaugurated the college fest along with Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal, President of the College Managing Committee, Manager Mr. Ashwini Aggarwal and College Principal Dr. Archna Garg. Esteemed member of the Managing Committee Shri M.R. Kalia was also specially present. The Designers' Exhibition, Punjabi Heritage Exhibition, food stalls, DJ and Game Zone became the pleasure zones. Along with this, HKCian Day was also organized one day before the Students' Fest on 7th February 2026. On this occasion, opportunities were provided to students to showcase their talent through competitions such as Mehndi Competition, Nail Art, Swedish, Snacks and Salad Making, Best out of Waste, Hair Style, Carrom Board, and Ludo Game. On this occasion, Outlander’s Oasis' Season 2 showcased several entrepreneurs attractive products in their stalls. In the closing session of the program, lots of the Lucky Draw of the Students' Fest were drawn. Motive: 1. To provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills. 2. Celebration of Basant Panchami-2026

The auspicious Basant Panchami festival was celebrated at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala on January 23, 2026. This auspicious day marks the birth of Maa Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and the arrival of spring season. The ambience of the college was filled with the spirit of devotion and jubiliation. The Officiating Principal Dr. Kulwinder Kaur and all teachers paid the floral tributes to seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Students from the Music department presented devotional songs to invoke Maa Saraswati and mark the Basant festival. Officiating Principal Dr. Kulwinder Kaur congratulated the students and staff on this day and said that such celebrations make us attached with our rich Indian cultural roots and traditions. Havan Solmnization at Makar Sankranti & Lohri Celebration

Holy festivals of Lohri and Makar Sankranti were celebrated at the college premises with great reverence. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, a pious Havan was performed in the campus, seeking divine favour for the students' prosperous future and overall progress of the college. This inaugural festival of the year offers a sacred moment to seek tranquility, abundance and joy for the times ahead. Mr. Madhav Aggarwal and Mrs. Mrs. Tamanna Aggarwal were the Yajmans of the Havan. From the College Management Committee, President Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal and Manager Shri Ashwini Aggarwal were present. Students from the Department of Music captivated everyone with their rendition of the revered Hanuman Chalisa, succeeded by the Aarti. The teaching, non- teaching staff and students participated with great devotion in this sacred ritual. The college also celebrated Lohri, a traditional North Indian festival, with great enthusiasm. Students and staff gathered around the sacred fire, offering peanuts, sesame seeds, jaggery and other traditional items, praying for the prosperity of the college and all. Motive : 1. Annual Sports Day was organized at the College to encourage students towards sports and raise awareness about physical and mental health. S. Surinder Singh Sodhi, IPS (Retd.), Olympic Gold Medalist, Arjuna Awardee and recipient of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award (Hockey), graced the event as the Chief Guest. Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal, President, College Management Committee presided over the function. Shri O.P. Behl, Honourable Member of the College Managing Committee, was also present. Shri Satish Sharma, Deputy Director of Sports (Retd.) and Member of the College Vision Committee, welcomed the Chief Guest, S. Surinder Singh Sodhi, IPS (Retd.) and elaborated his achievements. Students presented a march past and energetic Zumba exercises. On this occasion, Shri Satish Sharma, Shri Rajiv Walia (Sports Promoter and Chairman of Youth and Sports Welfare Board, Punjab), International Gold Medalist in Wushu Kung Fu, Karate, Taekwondo and member of the United Nations Organization (USA), and Taekwondo Coach Shri Harandeep Singh were honoured. On this Sports Day, students enthusiastically participated in events such as races, sack race, marble race, skipping race, long jump, chatti race, shot put, skipping race, three-legged race, triple jump and relay race. Tug-of-war and shot put competitions were organized for college teaching and non-teaching staff. Winners were honoured with medals. Kiranpreet Kaur, a student of B.A.- 2nd Semester was felicitated as the Best Athlete, and Loveleen Upadhyaya received the award for being declared the Best Player of Session 2025-26. Notably, the Best Player award is given by the Alumni Association. College alumni including businesswoman Mrs. Geeta Ghai, Advocate Ms. Isha Manchanda, Social worker Ms. Isha Mahajan, Accountant Ms. Neha Dhamija from PSPCL and Block Co-Coordinator Officer Ms. Randeep Kaur from the Water Supply and Sanitation Department were specially present. Motive : 1. To develop the spirit of sportsmanship among the participants. 2. To instill feelings of unity and camaraderie within students ,which contributes to their overall development. *Closing Ceremony of Seven- Day NSS Camp at Hindu Kanya College* On the Seventh Day, December 30, 2025, a Closing Ceremony was organized in the college premises. Shri Jaspal Singh, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Kapurthala graced the function as the Chief Guest. S. Jasvir Singh, Sarpanch graced the function as the Guest of Honour, whereas S. Manjit Singh, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Kanjli along with members of Panchayat, S. Lakhwinder Singh and Smt. Kulwinder Kaur graced the function as the special guests. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Officiating Principal presided over the function. Dr. Amanjyoti, Programme Officer of the college read the Seven- Day Report of the NSS Camp. NSS volunteers Ms. Kirat, Ms. Davinderdeep Kaur and Ms. Amandeep Kaur, all students of 3rd Semester enthralled the audience with their solo songs commemorating Shaheedi week. NSS volunteer Ms. Preeti from B.A. -3rd Semeter presented an inspirational poem. A Choreography on 'Mission Sindoor' was staged by NSS volunteer Preeti and her group. NSS volunteer Ms. Kiran of 10+2 (Medical) expressed her experience of the Camp through her speech. S. Jasvir Singh, while appreciating the emotional presentations commemorating Shaheedi week, Mission Sindoor and performances made by the NSS young volunteers, shared his pleasant experiences of different activities organized by the NSS Units at his Village Kanjli. S. Manjit Singh, Principal Government Senior Secondary School, Kanjli also expressed his pleasure in collaborating with the NSS Units of both College and Collegiate School and promised to render his support and services for the future ventures of the institution. The Officiating Principal of the College, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur presented her gratitude to the guests for their valuable cooperation in making the camp successful. She also complimented NSS Programme Officers of the College and Collegiate School namely Dr. Amanjyoti, Dr. Suvit Das, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur, Mrs. Deepika Dhiman, Mrs. Mukti, Ms. Reena Salota, Ms. Ajaydeep Kaur and Ms. Dilpreet Kaur for arranging plethora of activities during seven days of the camp. The Academic Incharge of the School, Mr. Sanjeev Bhalla also conveyed his congratulations at the successful completion of the Seven- Day NSS Camp. At the end, mementos were presented to the guests. 103 NSS volunteers from the two NSS Units of the college and 100 NSS volunteers from the two NSS Units of the school participated in this camp enthusiastically.

Cleanliness Activity, Talk on 'Organic Farming and Bank Schemes for Farmers', Recreational Games, Camp Fire buzzed the 6th Day of the Seven-Day NSS Camp organized by Hindu Kanya Collegiate School NSS Units of Hindu Kanya Collegiate School, Kapurthala continued their Seven-Day NSS Camp by organising diverse activities during its 6th day on 29th December 2025. NSS volunteers commenced their morning session with yoga exercises to keep their body agile, flexible and mind alert. They held a Cleanliness activity in their collegiate school under which NSS volunteers cleaned different areas of the school. In the afternoon session, NSS Units organized a Talk on 'Organic Farming and Bank Schemes for the Farmers' at Village Kanjli in which, the Resource Person Mr. Umesh Kumar, Chief Manager from State Bank of India, Kapurthala elaborated different bank schemes like KCC, KCC-AHF, AIF, Dairy loan and Kissan Samriddhi Rinn to the present villagers. He made the audience aware about the digital scams; the havoc caused by fake digital arrest and suggested some precautionary measure to deal with online transactions smartly. Thereafter, NSS volunteers had a nutritious and delicious lunch together at their school and then they participated in the recreational activities. They played a game of Musical Chair and enjoyed dancing together during the Camp Fire. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Officiating Principal of the College, complimented the NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Mukti, Ms. Reena Salota, Ms. Ajaydeep Kaur and Ms. Dilpreet Kaur for involving young volunteers in the varied activities dealing fitness, hygiene and social awareness and motivated the young volunteers to imbibe the leadership skills, discipline and the spirit of serving community together selflessly, following the motto of NSS righteously i.e. 'Not Me, But You.' The Academic Incharge of the Collegiate School, Mr. Sanjeev Bhalla commended the NSS Units of the School for arranging variety of activities to engage NSS volunteers and villagers in the community upliftment and social awareness programmes.

Rally on 'Drug Abuse' and Talk on 'Art of Living and Digital Detoxification' remained the key events of the 5th Day of Seven-Day NSS Camp organized by Hindu Kanya College NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala continued their Seven-Day NSS Camp by organising a gallery of activities during its 5th day on 28th December 2025. NSS volunteers started their morning session with brisk zumba exercises to keep their body warm and healthy. Thereafter, they held a Rally on 'Drug Abuse' in the surrounding areas of the college. NSS volunteers displayed simple yet persuasive placards and slogans spreading public awareness regarding ill effects of drugs. The rally aimed to stimulate civic duty among young volunteers to curb the menace of drugs. In the afternoon session, a Talk on 'Art of Living and Digital Detoxification' was organised for the volunteers. The Resource Person of this talk, Sister Neha, a Rajyoga Practitioner elaborated the drastic consequences of the excessive use of mobile phones, which affects people mental health and overall well being, causing hyperactivity, depression, anxiety, inattentiveness and many psychological and physical problems. She stated that the digital gadgets are addictive and the overuse of mobile phones and social media makes our mind dull and body inactive and lethargic, which resultantly hampers our focus, work efficiency and overall performance. A special session on the importance of meditation and positive thinking was also conducted during this talk for the NSS volunteers. NSS Programme Officer Dr. Amanjyoti presented her gratitude to the Resource Person Sister Neha and Shri Ajay Jairath for gracing the institution and addressing the NSS volunteers. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Officiating Principal of the College, appreciated the efficient management of the NSS Programme Officers Dr. Amanjyoti, Dr. Suvit Das, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur and Mrs. Deepika Dhiman and encouraged the young volunteers to learn from all the awareness activities conducted during the camp.

Visit to Rail Coach Factory, Recreational Fitness Sessions and Cleanliness Activity marked the 4th Day of the Seven-Day NSS Camp of Hindu Kanya College NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized variety of activities on the 4th Day of its Seven- Day NSS Camp i.e. on 27th December 2025. NSS Volunteers started their day with a physical fitness session in which they performed Zumba exercises on the beats of music. This physical activity energized them for the forthcoming activities. After that, an educational visit to Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala was organised for the volunteers in which students received valuable insights and recreational exposure. In the workshop of the R.C.F., Ms. Sandeep Kaur, Technician provided the general information about the production of coaches for the prominent trains like Vande Bharat, Rajdhani and other locomotives. NSS volunteers witnessed the well- organized labour management, metallurgy, quality control and operational efficiencies of the workers. This educational visit fostered curiosity, professional skills and lifelong memories among NSS volunteers through expert interactions. Students also enjoyed the scenic beauty of the lake at R.C.F. Another group of NSS volunteers participated in cleanliness activity at the college and also played an endearing match of kho-kho with full enthusiasm. After having lunch, a special session was arranged by the NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Amanjyoti and Dr. Suvit Das, in which they elaborated the aim of NSS, advantages of attending NSS Camp and responsibilities of the NSS volunteers towards society and community upliftment. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, the Officiating Principal of the College applauded the NSS Units for arranging educational visit and for channelizing young volunteers' energy and focus towards their overall development. Medical Camp' at Village Kanjli and Workshop on 'Practical Techniqes to Improve Communication Skills' remained the highlights of the 3rd Day of Seven - Day NSS Camp organized by Hindu Kanya College On 26th December 2025, NSS Volunteers of the NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala started their 3rd day by participating in a special morning session of yoga exercises. In this session, student volunteers learnt to perform yoga exercises. A Medical Camp was organised at Village Kanjli for the villagers in which 24 villagers and 52 NSS Volunteers underwent general checkup. Dr. Bhuneshwari, Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Kapurthala recommended medicines and valuable suggestions on how to lead a healthy lifestyle and control blood pressure and other ailments. Under the signature campaign, Student volunteers taught village folk of the village how to do their signature in English and Punjabi. Thereafter, in the afternoon session, a Workshop on 'Practical Techniqes to Improve Communication Skills' was organised at college for the NSS volunteers. The Resource Person Mrs. Sapna Bhalla, Assistant Professor from the Department of English, Hindu Kanya College elaborated feasible and practical techniques to improve communication skills like reading, speaking, writing and listening with examples. Officiating Principal Dr. Kulwinder Kaur applauded the special sessions arranged by the College NSS Units for benefitting villagers by arranging medical camp. Seminars on 'Disaster Management' and 'Consumer Awareness' remained the highlights of the 2nd Day of Seven - Day NSS Camp organized by Hindu Kanya College On 25th December 2025, NSS Volunteers of the NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala started their 2nd day by participating in a special morning session of aerobics exercises. In this session, NSS volunteers learnt to perform exercises to improve endurance, flexibility and to relax body and mind. Thereafter, a Seminar on 'Disaster Management' was organised at Village Kanjli for the villagers and NSS volunteers. The Resource Person Dr. Puneet Puri, Head, P.G.Department of Zoology, D.A.V. College, Jalandhar enlightened the audience that the disaster management is vital for equipping people with knowledge on the types of disasters like floods, earthquakes and man-made hazards such as industrial accidents. He said that natural or man-made disasters, both teach humans that awareness and readiness save lives. He elaborated the escape strategies, from evacuation drills to early warnings, drawing lessons from past events like the 2004 Tsunami and Bhopal gas tragedy, and recent Punjab floods in 2025 that displaced many people from their home. Under the signature campaign, NSS volunteers also taught women folk of the village how to write their name and address in Punjabi. In the afternoon session, a Talk on 'Consumer Awareness' was organised in which, the Resource Person, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur from P.G. Department of Commerce, Hindu Kanya College made students aware their rights while buying and selling products, how to spot scams, verify quality, understand the laws to protect consumers' rights, negotiate fairly, and avoid fraud. Officiating Principal Dr. Kulwinder Kaur appreciated the special sessions arranged by the College NSS Units for spreading awareness among the NSS volunteers and the villagers on the pertinent issues.
