NSS Volunteers of NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organised an inaugural ceremony of Seven- Day NSS Camp at Government Senior Secondary School, Kanjli on 24th December 2025 by planting saplings in the school premises. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Officiating Principal of the College graced the function with her benign presence. NSS Volunteers started the inaugural ceremony by singing NSS Song with zeal and fervor. In the Tree Plantation event, S. Jasvir Singh, Sarpanch, Kanjli, Panchayat members and villagers of Kanjli, Programme Officers and student volunteers of the college were present during this event. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur encouraged the NSS Volunteers of the camp to participate in such camps enthusiastically to contribute their generous service towards the community. She congratulated the NSS Programme Officers of the College NSS units Dr. Amanjyoti, Dr. Suvit Das, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur and Mrs. Deepika Dhiman on the inauguration of the camp and conveyed her good wishes to all campers for their forthcoming activities. Mr. Jaspal, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Kapurthala and S. Manjit Singh, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Kanjli conveyed their best wishes on the inauguration of the camp to all the campers. In the afternoon session of the camp, a Workshop on 'Canva & Digilocker' was organised for the students in which Mrs. Deepika Dhiman, Assistant Professor from the Department of Computer Science and IT demonstrated how to frame Advertisement by using Canva and it's various uses. 705 | Inter College Taekwondo Competition | 07/12/2025 | Approved | Loveleen Upadhyaya, a student of B.A.-3rd Semester, won the gold medal in the 49 kg weight category at the Inter-College Taekwondo Competition held on December 7, 2025, at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, bringing laurel to the college. Notably, with this victory, Loveleen has been selected for the All India Inter-University competition.

704 | Declamation Contest on 'Drug Free Punjab' | 28-11-2025 | Approved | A Declamation Contest on the topic 'Drug-Free Punjab' was organized by the Students Legal Literacy Cell of the College as per directions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar( Mohali). The students enthusiastically participated, expressing their views on the growing drug problem in Punjab and discussing possible solutions. Sukhamanpreet Kaur, daughter of S. Dalbir Singh from 10+2 Arts, secured the first position, while Bhumika, daughter of Mr. Sunil Kaura from 10+2 Commerce, was awarded the second place.
Motive : 1. To raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse and its impact on society.
2. To encourage students to take a stand against drug addiction and promote a healthy lifestyle.
3. To provide a platform for students to express their views and opinions on the issue.

703 | Two-Day Hands-On Workshop for Teachers | 21-11-2025 | Approved | A Two-Day Hands- On Workshop on 'Best out of Waste' for the staff members was organized by the Eco Club on November 21–22, 2025 under the guidance of Environment Education Programme (E.E.P.), Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and the State Nodal Agency of the Ministry of Forests and Climate Change, Government of India. The Officiating Principal of the College, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur graced the event as the Chief Guest. The objective of the workshop was to promote creative and effective reuse of waste materials. On the first day, Mrs. Avninder Kaur and Ms. Harkirat Kaur demonstrated how to make bags from the used and discarded T-shirts. On the second day, Ms. Raveena demonstrated how to make attractive potli bags from the waste dress materials, while Mrs. Harmeen Kaur showed how to convert old T-shirts into aprons. To entertain the participants, a few fun games were also organized, which made the event enjoyable. Staff members also practised making bags.
Motive: 1. To promote creative reuse of waste materials among staff members, fostering a culture of sustainability.
2. To equip staff with skills and knowledge to create useful items from discarded materials.
3. To encourage environmentally responsible practices and reduce waste generation.

During this event, Mrs. Seema Rani, Coordinator of the Eco Club enlightened students about the importance of various environment protecting initiatives like saving paper, discouraging the use of single use plastic and planting more and more trees. In the workshop, Ms. Ravina, Member, Eco Club demonstrated before students the innovative ways to prepare paper bags from the old newspapers. Thereafter, students took pledge under the supervision of Dr. Veena, Member of the Eco Club, to protect environment by reducing wastage of paper and reusing it optimally.

699 | Environment Oriented Three- Day Activities | 24-03-2025 | Approved | The Eco Club of the college organized various environment related activities under the 'Mission Life', Environment Education Programme' from March 24 to March 26. The main objective of these activities was to promote environmental conservation under the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. As part of this program, the Eco Club organized an Educational Visit to the Pushpa Gujral Science City for students. During this visit, students explored various sites, including the Dinosaur Park, Art Gallery and Dome Theatre and also watched a climate show. A Three-Day Workshop on "Best Out of Waste" was also organized, where students learned to create new and useful items from discarded materials. Ms. Ravina from the Department of Fashion Designing demonstrated how to create fashionable bags, decorative items and planters from waste materials. Dr. Veena, Member, Eco Club administered an oath to the students to protect and conserve the environment. During these environmental conservation activities, Ms. Reena Salota delivered a speech dedicated to World Water Day, emphasizing the importance of saving every drop of water.

698 | Environment Supporting Activities | 12-11-2024 | Approved | As per the directions issued by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change ( MoEF & CC), Govt.of India and the State Nodal Agency, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, the Eco Club of the College organized an activity under the Environment Education Program on 12th & 13th November 2024. Ms. Ravina, Member of the Cell conducted a workshop on 'Best Out of Waste' and demonstrated various methods to create new items from the discarded materials available at home. Additionally, students participated in cleanliness activity under the leadership of Mrs. Seema, Convener and Dr. Veena Kumari, Member of the Cell. Students cleaned and beautified the college garden with herbal and ornamental plants. 35 students participated in this environment awareness program. During these two activities, children created various articles, including lace designs, wall paintings, pot paintings and learned how to transform discarded bottles into beautiful flowerpots using materials readily available at home. Students also took the pledge to protect their environment and to keep it clean, green and hygienic.
