*Extension Lecture on 'Ayurveda: The Science of Life' at Hindu Kanya College* No. of Beneficiaries: 183 Purpose:To apprise students about the background and importance of Ayurveda to human life. Outcome: Students learnt about the benefits of Ayurveda in maintaining physical, mental, and spiritual health. NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized an Extension Lecture on 'Ayurveda: The Science of Life' on 23rd September 2025 to apprise students about the background and importance of Ayurveda to human life. Dr. Madhurima Bhargava, Professor from B.K. Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar chaired the session as it's Resource Person. She enlightened students about Ayurveda, stating that it is an indigenous ancient medical science of India and is more than 5000 years old. She said that the Ayurveda means the study of life. It takes a natural approach to all aspects of health and well-being. Ayurveda is based on the idea that each person has mainly three life forces or doshas, which are Vaata, Pitta, Kapha and everything in the universe is connected around these three. An imbalance in any one of these doshas can affect another. Dr. Madhurima suggested students to observe healthy eating habits and active lifestyle to avoid imbalance in three doshas and for leading a happy and healthy life. .

*NSS Day observed at Hindu Kanya College* No. of Beneficiaries: 560 Purpose: To spread awareness amongst students regarding the environmental hazards. Outcome:Students will be motivated to participate in environmental activism and advocate for environmental protection. NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala observed NSS Day on 24th September 2025 by staging a Nukkad Natak to spread awareness amongst students regarding the environmental hazards. The play emphasized that Punjab, the country’s grain bowl, is battling one of its worst floods in decades, which have impacted nearly four lakh people, claimed 48 lives, affected about 2,000 villages, and resulted in an estimated loss of over ₹13,000 crore. Students presented how the heavy rains remained the primary triggers to devastate the farmer's hardwork and human life in general. Students through their superb performance pinpointed the major causes of the floods like human interventions, including blocked drainage systems due to water pollution, excessive use of plastic, human encroachments near river banks and other unregulated construction activities. Students urged the audience to avoid these shortcomings.

The P.G. Department of Commerce and Management celebrated World Entrepreneurs' Day on August 21, 2025 by organizing an Entrepreneurial Development Program (EDP) with the theme "How to Become an Entrepreneur?" The program featured an expert session chaired by the Resource Person, Mr. Nagesh Kumar, who held over 15 years of experience in Indian Stock Market operations, SEBI law and financial market compliances. Mr. Nagesh shared insights on incorporation planning, qualities required to become a successful entrepreneur and financial assistance and schemes for establishing new business. 15 student participants presented their business ideas and plans in which Jasleen and Navjot clenched the 1st Prize. Muskaan Begam got the 2nd prize, and Prabhleen received the 3rd prize.The event helped students gain confidence in presenting business ideas, understand financial planning and explore entrepreneurship as a career option. Dr. Neetu Bhargava, Head, P.G. Department of Commerce presented her gratitude to the Resource Person for conducting a highly informative session. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated the Department of Commerce for organizing the event and encouraged students to nurture innovative ideas and contribute to nation-building through entrepreneurship. Investiture Ceremony and Students' Orientation Programme were organized at the college, Kapurthala for the session 2025-26. Karandeep Kaur (BCA Semester V) was elected as the College Head Girl, while Vishakha (BA Semester V) was chosen as the Vice Head Girl. Bhavleen Kaur (10+2 Arts) was elected as the School Head Girl. Talent Hunt was staged on to unleash the hidden talent and skills of the college and collegiate school. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg presided over the function as the Chief Guest. Students showcased their skills and versatility by participating in many Off- Stage and On-stage competitions like Rangoli, Poster Making, Mehandi, Collage Making, singing, dancing theatrical and literary items. Total 172 students participated in these on- stage and off- stage competitions with great zeal and demonstrated their talents and artistic skills enthusiastically. During the visit, students witnessed various stages of biscuit production, including the selection of raw materials, manufacturing and packaging. Officials Mrs. Shivakshi from the HR Department and Mrs. Deeksha from the Quality Assurance Cell explained each step in detail, highlighting the importance of quality control, hygiene standards, and automation. Students of the departments of Commerce and Home Science received valuable knowledge during this visit which allowed them to relate academic knowledge with the real industrial practices.
