The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology and Bhasha Manch of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized a lecture on 'Artificial Intelligence and Punjabi Language' on March 27, 2025. The event aimed to provide students with extensive knowledge about Punjabi language and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. C.P. Kamboj from the Punjabi Computer Help Center, Department of Punjabi, Punjabi University, Patiala, was the Guest Speaker. Dr. Kamboj highlighted the significance of integrating AI tools like software and Chatbots into the Punjabi language, which can enhance communication, improve language learning and bridge language barriers. He emphasized the importance of using AI for the development of the Punjabi language, which can create numerous job opportunities. The event was attended by 129 students and faculty members from the Computer Science and Punjabi department. Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated the initiative, stating that knowledge of AI and Punjabi language is essential for students in today's digital age, providing them with better job prospects.

Workplace Harassment and Cyber Crime Against Women

The NSS Units and Anti- Sexual Harassment Cell of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized a lecture on 'Workplace Harassment and Cyber Crime Against Women' on March 11, 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness among students. The Resource Person of the session, Inspector Amandeep Kaur discussed sexual harassment, child pornography and the Sexual Harassment Act, while S. Harbhajan Singh provided information on cyber crimes against women, emphasizing complaint filing procedures and the toll-free helpline number 1390.The program was attended by 181 NSS volunteers from the college. On this occasion, NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Amanjyoti presented her Vote of Thanks to the guests. Motive: The primary objective of the lecture on ‘Workplace Harassment and Cyber Crime Against Women’ was to raise awareness among students, particularly NSS volunteers, about various forms of harassment and cyber crimes. Wellness Club of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala observed the Wellness Day by organizing a Workshop on the topic "Make Mind Your Best Friend" on 12th March 2025. The Keynote Speaker, Dr. E.V. Swaminathan, an eminent teacher, Life coach and motivational speaker, emphasized the importance of meditation and a positive mindset. Dr. Swaminathan said that we should make mind our friend by channelizing positive thoughts, emotional stability and right attitude. He also highlighted the significance of a smiling face, as it reflects a healthy mind. On this occasion, from the College Management Committee, President Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal and Manager Shri Ashwani Aggarwal were present along with Brahmakumaris Ms. Harman Kaur, Ms. Lakshmi and Ms. Neha as special guests. Extension Talk and Poster Display activity on 'Green Technology'

As per the directions issued by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change ( MoEF & CC), Govt.of India and the State Nodal Agency, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, the Eco Club of the college organized an Extension Talk and Poster Display activity on the college motto "Green Technology': Solution for Better Tomorrow" under the Environment Education Program. Resource Person, Dr. Meena Sethi, Associate Professor in Botany ( Retd.) from N.J.S.A. Government College, Kapurthala highlighted the key components of Green Technology. Dr. Sethi suggested certain feasible environment friendly activities to protect, preserve and improve environment like sustainable transportation, verticle gardening, rain water harvesting, waste management and circular economy, recycling, tree plantation, green architecture and use of energy efficient appliances. On this occasion, Dr. Veena Kumari organized a pledge ceremony in which students took the pledge to protect their environment. Posters on Green Technology were also displayed through which students showcased their concern for environment and artistic flair. Motive : To make students aware about the major concerns related to the environment and to encourage them to adopt green technology to reduce human impacts on the natural environment. 'Vidyarthi Utsav': Student Fest- 2025

Student Fest : 'Vidyarthi Utsav' was organized in the college on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami. Chief Guests, Dr. Atul Rattan and Dr. Anu Rattan alongwith the College Managing Committee President Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal, Manager Shri Ashwani Aggarwal and College Principal Dr. Archna Garg inaugurated the Fest. Managing Committee members Shri M.R. Kalia and Shri Jai Pal Goyal also graced the event. The Designer Exhibition, Exhibition on Punjabi Heritage and Culture, Food stalls, DJ and the Game Zone, featuring gaming trucks, temporary tattoos and fun - filled games captivated everyone' s attention. On this occasion, the cast of the Punjabi film 'Illte' also added additional charm to the event. The Chief Guests of the concluding session were Shri Krishan Sethi and Shri Tarsem Behl who conducted the Lucky Draw of Fete. On the previous day of the Fete, the college organized 'HKCian Day'in which various competitions like Mehndi, Nail Art, Sandwich Making, Snacks and Salad Making, Best out of Waste, Hair Styling, Carrom Board and Ludo games were held to showcase students' skills. These competitions were adjudged by Mrs. Geeta Ghai, Mrs. Sangeeta Sehgal, Mrs. Deepika Agarwal, Mrs. Anu Aggarwal, Mrs. Meena Sethi, Mrs. Nidhi Chopra and Mrs. Monica Goyal. Motive : To recognise and nurture students' artistic talents; to provide them new opportunities and involve them in recreational activities to learn beyond academics. Wordsmiths' Arena : An Inter College Competition

An Inter-College Competition, 'Wordsmiths' Arena' was organized by The English Literary Society of Department of English of the college . Students from 19 colleges participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. The competitions included Quiz Whiz, PPT on Literary Legends Writing in English, Cultural Confluence - Fusion Dance on English Songs, Poetic Punch, Spell Bee and Role Play. Havan Solemnization on Makar Sankranti

The festival of Makar Sankranti was celebrated in the college by solemnizing an auspicious Havan. Mr. Ayush Gupta and his wife, Mrs. Muskan Gupta were the Yajmans of the havan. From the College Management Committee, President Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal and Manager Shri Ashwini Aggarwal graced the occasion with their presence. The teaching and non-teaching staff along with the students, participated in this sacred ritual. The college also celebrated Lohri, a traditional North Indian festival, with great enthusiasm. Students and staff gathered around the sacred fire, offering peanuts, sesame seeds, jaggery and other traditional items, praying for the growth and prosperity of the college.
