Induction Programme for the New Students : 'Know Your College'

An Induction Programme, 'Know Your College' for the academic session 2025- 26 was organized the freshers of the Arts, Commerce and IT streams . The program aimed to familiarize students with various streams, skill-based courses, subject societies, clubs, and associations, as well as the college's code of conduct. During the Valedictory session on August 29, 2025, Principal Dr. Archna Garg emphasized the importance of understanding college new atmosphere and making informed choices about academic pursuits. She encouraged students to adhere to moral values and leverage the opportunities provided by the college, including skill enhancement and value-added courses. Other notable speakers addressed students through virtual mode which included Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, who discussed the Youth Service Club and encouraged participation in youth festivals; Dr. Ritu Gupta, who informed students about the college's code of conduct, rules, and support services; Dr. Jasdeep Kaur, who provided information on NCC and Post-Matric Scholarships; Dr. Anupam Sabharwal, who raised awareness about clubs and subject based societies and associatios; Er. Inderjeet Kaur Bal, who offered career counseling and insights into competitive exams; Mrs. Suvit Das, who introduced students to NSS; and Ms. Sheela, who guided students on utilizing library facilities. The Eco Club of the college also organized an Environmental Education Program under the supervision of its Convener, Mrs. Seema Rani and distributed 150 plants. Under this campaign, Dr. Veena administered an environmental protection oath to students. Motive :- 1. To familiarize new students with college's academic programs, code of conduct, and opportunities. 2. To provide insights into various clubs, societies, and support services to enhance students' overall development. 3. Industrial Visit of Mrs. Bector's Food Specialities Limited, Phillaur

An industrial visit to Mrs. Bector's Food Specialities Limited in Phillaur was arranged for the students. During the visit, students witnessed various stages of biscuit production, including the selection of raw materials, manufacturing and packaging. Officials Mrs. Shivakshi from the HR Department and Mrs. Deeksha from the Quality Assurance Cell explained each step in detail, highlighting the importance of quality control, hygiene standards, and automation. Students of the departments of Commerce and Home Science received valuable knowledge during this visit which allowed them to relate academic knowledge with the real industrial practices. Commemoration of 'World Book Day'

A Book Fair was organized on the occasion of World Book Day by the Bhasha Manch and College Library Committee, in collaboration with District Language Office, Kapurthala. The event featured esteemed guests, including Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, District Language Officer, Mrs. Promila Arora, a renowned literary figure, Sardar Kanwar Iqbal Singh from the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology Department, Dr. Paramjit Singh Mansa, a Gurubani thinker and Dr. Jaswinder Kaur. Mrs. Promila Arora addressed the students, highlighting the significance of books in teaching life skills and enriching life experiences. She recited her poem, "If you want to get addicted, get addicted to reading books," emphasizing the importance of reading for the younger generation. Sardar Kanwar Iqbal Singh noted that poetry is a source of inspiration for students and books on language and literature motivate individuals to move forward in life. The tour aimed to enhance students' knowledge and connect them with India's rich heritage by visiting historical and recreational sites at Delhi. Twenty students participated in the tour, visiting Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk Market, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Museum, Amrit Udyan, Rakab Ganj Gurdwara Sahib, Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple, Raj Ghat, Birla Temple, Sarojini Market, Karol Bagh Market, Akshardham and Iskcon Temple. Commemoration of 'World Water Day'

NCC Unit of the College affiliated with 21 Punjab Batallion NCC Kapurthala observed World Water Day. Cadet Preeti, Cadet Leela and Cadet Rupinder expressed their concerns regarding water wastage and suggested ways for water conservation to address the issue. Cadet Amanpreet sang a song 'Ganga tera pani amrit'. On this occasion, a pledge was also taken by the cadets to reduce water wastage. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg applauded CTO Mrs. Davinder Kaur for organizing this awareness activity. Extension Lecture on Free Legal Aid Services

Legal Literacy Cell of the college in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Kapurthala organized an Extension Lecture wherein, the Resource Persons, Ms Lakshmi, a Para-Legal Volunteer and Advocate Vibhuti Sharma, an Assistant Legal Aid Defense Council, provided detailed information on free legal aid services available to all sections of society, especially weaker, backward classes and women. Farewell Party to the Outgoing Classes

An emotional adieu was paid to the outgoing U.G. and P.G. classes of the college.The event started by paying tributes to the tourists killed in Pehalgam terror attacks. One minute silence was observed to pay homage to the departed souls. Ms. Kashish Bhargav of B.Com.-6th Semester won the coveted title of Miss HKC and Ms.Vidhi Sharma of B. Com. - 6th Semester got the title of Runner- up respectively . College Principal Dr. Archna Garg presided over the function as the Chief Guest. From the College Management Committee, President Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal and Joint Secretary Mrs. Adarsh Parti graced the occasion as the special guests. Students of UG 6th Semester, P.G.- 4th semester, Diplomas of 2nd semester and teachers were engaged in different entertaining games.
