The Department of Political Science, Hindu Kanya College Kapurthala, organized a Youth Parliament Program on 20th February 2025. The aim of this program was to acquaint students with the role of Parliament in Indian Politics and to raise awareness about the pressing issues of the present time. The topic of the debate was, "Will One Nation One Election lead to better representation and accountability?" The event brought young minds together for democratic discussions, with participants presenting their arguments in favour and against of the above given topic. Beneficiaries- 115 Motive- to educate and empower students with knowledge of parliamentary procedures, democratic values, and effective communication skills. Outcome- It enables students to develop critical thinking, public speaking, leadership, and teamwork skills, while fostering a deeper understanding of democratic processes and civic responsibility.

Report : Industrial Visit to Rail Coach Factory by the Students of Hindu Kanya College In pursuit of fostering experiential learning, the P.G. Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala embarked an industrial visit to the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala on 22nd February 2025. Led by Er. Neha Chopra, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Sheela, Librarian, students from the department participated in this enriching experience. Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Demonstrator explained the software applications and Automated Embedded Systems (Numerical Control) employed at RCF to the students.The visit provided hands-on knowledge of cutting-edge technologies to the students. Principal Dr. Archna Garg lauded the department's initiative, emphasizing the significance of such industrial visits in imparting practical knowledge and bridging the gap between academia and industry. *An Educational Talk on 'Career Prospects' organized at Hindu Kanya College* Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized an educational talk on career prospects for the Commerce students on 30th January 2025. This activity aimed at enlightening students about learning skills to enhance their career prospects. The session was chaired by Mr. Kanwaljit Singh, an esteemed speaker, who shared valuable insights on the importance of skill development along with academic curriculum. The key takeaway from this session was learning skills such as communication skills, technical skills, and confidence to boost career growth. The speaker used real-life examples, case studies and interactive discussions to keep the audience engaged. The session successfully enhanced knowledge and awareness on BFSI: A future skills prespective making it a valuable learning experience. The session was followed by a question answer session in which students actively participated by asking insightful questions. Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated the efforts of Dr. Neetu Bhargava, the Convener of the organizing Cell and her team for organising an informative session for the students which would surely benefit them for their academic and career growth. Workshop on Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs /Startups The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized a Workshop on “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs /Startups” on 6th February 2025. The event aimed to educate participants on the latest trends, strategies and the tools of digital marketing. Ms. Skina, the Director of The Global Gateway and a Digital Marketing Expert discoursed on the fundamentals of digital marketing and its impact on business and various career opportunities available thereafter. The workshop included interactive sessions where students asked questions and received an expert advice. The workshop was highly informative and beneficial . College Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated the initiative taken by the cell to provide valuable insights to students into the evolving world of digital marketing and for equipping participants with knowledge and tools to enhance their digital strategies. 130 students, Dr. Neetu Bhargava, Convener, Er. *Placement Drive hosted by Hindu Kanya College* In a bid to foster connections between students and the corporate world, the Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized a Placement Drive on 13th February 2025. This event provided a valuable opportunity for pass-out students to secure employment with the Union Bank. The drive aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, offering students a platform to showcase their skills and knowledge. Candidates underwent a rigorous one-on-one interview process, assessed on their knowledge domain and personality by Mr. Amanpal Singh, Territory Manager, and Mrs. Disha Chouhan, Relationship Manager. Out of 15 students , 7 were shortlisted for potential employment opportunities. Dr. Neetu Bhargava, Convener, Ms. Suvit Das, and Er. Inderjit Kaur Bal, Members of the Placement Cell, coordinated the session seamlessly. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg commended the Placement Cell for their initiatives in arranging this drive, expressing her enthusiasm for future collaborations that will invite more companies and achieve higher placement # Objective To provide a platform for pass-out students of Hindu Kanya College to secure employment opportunities with Union Bank, bridging the gap between academia and industry. # Outcome - 15 students participated in the Placement Drive. - 7 students were shortlisted for potential employment opportunities with Union Bank. - The drive successfully connected students with the corporate world, offering a valuable opportunity for employment.

"The playground teaches us many things; it instills in us the spirit of victory." – Padma Shri, Arjun Awardee S. Kartar Singh, IPS, IG (Retd.) The Annual Sports Day was organized at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala on 7th February 2025 with the aim of encouraging students towards sports and fitness activities. The Chief Guest for the event was Padma Shri, Arjuna Awardee and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Awardee (Government of Punjab) S. Kartar Singh, IPS, IG (Retd.). The event was presided over by Shri Arihant Aggarwal, Vice President, College Management Committee . Shri O.P. Behl, Member, College Management Committee was also present as a special guest. Shri Satish Sharma, Retired Deputy Director of Sports and a Member, College Vision Committee, delivered a formal welcome address, detailing the achievements of the Chief Guest. Later, the Chief Guest hoisted the flag and marked the official inauguration of the Sports Day. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest emphasized that the playground teaches invaluable lessons. He remarked that while victory brings happiness, defeat instills the zeal to return to the field with the renewed energy. Expressing pride, he highlighted that girls are excelling in every field today. He also encouraged the introduction of new sports. The event was further enlivened by the students of the Music Department, who presented beautiful folk songs. The enthusiasm of the students was remarkable in competitions such as the 100-Meter Race, 200-Meter Race, Sack Race, Skipping, Obstacle Race, Three-Legged Race, Balance Race, Back Race and Duck Race. Students also presented a skillful March Past and Zumba exercises. A Kho-Kho match was also conducted. College staff, Administrative Staff and Alumni participated in Shot- Put and Tug-of-War Competitions enthusiastically. The winners were honoured with medals. Manisha Kaur, a student of B.A.- 4th Semester was awarded the Best Athlete of the event and she was also declared the Best Player of the Year, a recognition facilitated by the Alumni Association.Congratulating Mrs. Mukti, the Head of the Department of the Physical Education and her team for the success of the event. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg emphasized that a balance between sports and academics is essential for an overall development of students' personality. She further stated that discipline, determination, and dedication are the key to success in sports. On this occasion Mrs. Sunita Thakur, Basketball Coach, Alumni Members Mrs. Sandeep Kumari, Mrs. Satbir Kaur and Mrs. Geetu and Mrs. Sakina graced the event with their presence. The event was skillfully coordinated by Dr. Jasdeep Kaur from the P.G. Department of Punjabi. *A Free Medical Camp and an Awareness Lecture on 'Menstrual Hygiene, Health, and Sanitation' organized at Hindu Kanya College* NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala a free Medical Camp and an Awareness Lecture on 'Menstrual Hygiene, Health, and Sanitation' under the Anaemia Mukt Bharat Program on 30th January 2025. Dr. Bhoomeshwari from Civil Hospital, Kapurthala conducted medical check-ups for 203 students and Shri Harjit Singh (Lab Technician) collected blood samples from 55 students. Iron and folic acid supplements were also distributed amongst students. Dr. Bhoomeshwari delivered an awareness lecture, emphasizing the importance of menstrual hygiene to prevent infections. She advised students to maintain good health by drinking plenty of fluids, wearing light clothing and regularly changing menstrual products. Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated the efforts of NSS unit for organizing the event, stating that such activities play a vital role in making students aware of their health and well being. On this occasion, Mrs. Varinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, addressed the students and highlighted the significance of National Constitution Day. She explained that the Indian Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26, 1950, to ensure the smooth functioning of the country. She also mentioned that the Indian Constitution is the longest in the world and was originally handwritten in Hindi and English. The Preamble to the Constitution is its soul, providing insight into the Constitution's principles and objectives.On the occasion of Constitution Day, students took an oath to fulfill their duties as ideal citizens, protect the unity and integrity of the nation, and uphold the principles of the Constitution. Beneficiaries- 185 Motive- To commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution, promoting awareness, understanding, and reverence for the foundational document that upholds the country's democratic values and principles. Celebration of National Voter Day

Electoral Literacy Club of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, celebrated 'National Voters Day' on January 25, 2025, to raise awareness among students about the importance of voting. The Electoral Literacy Club organized the event, where Club Incharge Mrs. Varinder Kaur addressed the students, emphasizing the significance of voting and its impact on nation-building. She encouraged the students to vote judiciously and contribute to building a strong India. To promote voting awareness among youth, a signature campaign was organized and a voters' awareness song was presented by Amanpreet Kaur, student from the Department of Music. An online video message from India's Chief Election Commissioner, Shri Rajiv Kumar was also presented. The students took an oath to exercise their right to vote. Beneficiaries-350 Motive-To encourage and empower students, as young voters, to participate in the electoral process, exercise their right to vote, and contribute to shaping India's future.
