Motive-To make aware students about freedom fighters of Punjab.
Report -On 3rd April,2022, Department of History and Political Science of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized an educational tour to commemorate the 75th year of Indian independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav) to Jang-e-Azadi memorial ,Kartarpur. The tour created awareness about the contribution of Punjabi revolutionaries in the freedom struggle. In the art gallery, there are paintings depicting the contribution of Punjabi revolutionaries in the freedom struggle and Kamagata Maru ship related to the event of Ghadar movement. A documentary based on Gurudwara Reform Movement, Gadar andolan, Kuka movement and various other events were also shown. The students also visited the historical Gurdwara Gangsar Sahib of the 5th and 6th Patshahi and got acquainted with the history of this historical place.
Outcome-Through this educational tour ,the students came to know about the Role of the revolutionaries of Punjab in the freedom struggle of India.
