Swachhata Hi Sewa- 2026' observed at Hindu Kanya College The NSS Units of Hindu Kanya College and Collegiate School and Unnnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell of the College commemorated 'Swachhata Hi Sewa-2026' on 24th September 2026. The event was celebrated as a prelude to the Swachhata Bharat Diwas scheduled to be observed on 2nd October 2026. The Chief Guest of the event, Madam Anupam Kaler, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, in her special address to the students, inspired them to contribute their services to support the vision of Swachh Bharat and spread awareness about cleanliness, environmental protection and civic responsibility. On this occasion, a special activity was organized by the student volunteers in which they formed a human chain in the shape of the Indian map, in which 270 students participated. Under the notion, 'One Nation, One Mission - Swachhata Hi Sewa', this team activity reflected students' sense of unity, harmony, collective responsibility towards a cleaner India. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg presented her gratitude to the Chief Guest and encouraged students to participate in such community awareness activities actively. From Municipal Corporation, Corporation Sanitation Officer, S. Jagdeep Singh, CSI, Shri Hitesh K. Aggarwal, SI, Shri Rajesh Kumar, SBMT, Ms. Yashanshi Kesherwani from ITC with her team members were present to coordinate the event. On this occasion, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Head, P.G. Report : The Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and IT of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organised an informative seminar on the topic ‘Artificial Intelligence: Emerging Trends and Innovations’ on 12th October 2026. The main objective of the seminar was to acquaint students with the emerging trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI), recent technological developments and its innovative applications in various fields. The Resource Person of the session, Professor (Retd.) Dr. Hardeep Singh of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar shared his valuable knowledge and experience regarding the rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence with the students. In his address, he discussed the latest trends in AI, technological advancements and its transformative contribution to education, industry and everyday life in detail. Keeping in view the requirements of the modern technological era, he also emphasised the importance of students acquiring AI-related skills. The students gained important insights into the emerging possibilities and applications of Artificial Intelligence during the seminar. Er. The Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Management of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala observed World Entrepreneurship Day by organizing an Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) on 22nd August 2026. The theme of the programme was “Entrepreneurship: Turning Challenges into Opportunities.” Mr. Nagesh Kumar, who has more than 15 years of experience in Indian stock market operations, SEBI law, and financial market compliance, graced the occasion as the Resource Speaker. The program aimed to raise students’ awareness of entrepreneurship, develop entrepreneurial skills and encourage them to take the first step towards innovation and self-employment. In his special session, Mr. Nagesh Kumar shared valuable insights on financial literacy, business planning and the qualities required to become a successful entrepreneur. After the session, student participants presented their business ideas and plans on the platform, demonstrating the practical application of creativity and entrepreneurial concepts. In the presentations, Taranpreet and Komalpreet won the first position; Leela and Prachi secured the second position; and Yashika and Japneet finished third, showcasing their talent and creativity. Staff members also participated actively in the discussion. Emerging entrepreneurs among the student participants were awarded for their outstanding presentations. Report: The Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized an informative and career-oriented seminar on emerging trends, career opportunities and industry-required skills in the field of Information Technology. The Resource Persons, Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Mr. Lakshay Jain(Mobile App Developer), O7 Solutions, Jalandhar interacted with students and provided valuable insights into the rapidly changing IT industry and the skills required to build a successful career in the sector. During the seminar, the speakers discussed the job requirements of leading IT companies, various career pathways in IT and the importance of acquiring practical and industry-oriented skills alongside academic knowledge. The Resource Person, Mr. Tushar Bansal, an International Hair TrainerInternational Hair Trainer provided an insightful and practical demonstration on various hair cutting techniques and modern styling trends. The session was highly interactive, where students actively participated and gained hands-on knowledge. Mr. Bansal explained different types of haircuts and also elaborated the application of Hairdressing tools and styling methods in a very effective and easy-to-understand manner. His expertise and engaging teaching style made the session extremely informative and beneficial for the students.The workshop proved to be a great learning experience, enhancing the practical skills and creativity of the students in the field of cosmetology.

*Workshop on 'Healing with Art' at Hindu Kanya College* The Wellness Club of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized a creative workshop on 'Healing with Art' on 30th May 2026. The aim of the workshop was to channelize students' abundant energy and attention towards creativity and self-healing. The event commenced with an energetic Zumba session trained by Mrs. Mukti, Member of the Wellness Club. Thereafter, the main vibrant session began, in which the Resource Person, Ms. Khushi Saini, Managing Director of Dream Works Education, Jalandhar, demonstrated a variety of versatile and creative techniques for painting using acrylic knives and paintbrushes. Students felt rejuvenated attending this workshop, as it provided a creative and stress-free environment to express and release their latent feelings through different colours on canvas. The College Principal, Dr. Archna Garg, expressed her thanks to the Resource Person for demonstrating a wonderful session to engage students in creative way. She also praised Club members and Er. Tanya Goel for coordinating the event with utmost sincerity, and further encouraged students to attend such innovative and creative workshops in future for their overall development and personality enhancement. *Hindu Kanya College Delivers Message of Positive Living on World Suicide Prevention Day* *"Awareness about mental health is the first step toward suicide prevention" – Ms. Kamayani Bali Mahabal* On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, a Workshop on 'Mental Health Awareness' was organized by the Wellness Club at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala on 10th September 2027, with an objective of sensitizing students about their mental health awareness, emotional balance and a positive outlook toward life among students. On this occasion, Ms. Kamayani Bali Mahabal, a Human Rights Lawyer from Kapurthala associated with 'Ankahi Sanstha' (an organization linked to emotional support and suicide prevention), graced the event as the Resource Person. Sharing her thoughts with the students on essential mental health issues, she explained through very simple and impactful examples how to deal with stress, anxiety, negative thoughts and emotional pressure. She inspired students to speak openly about their feelings, seek help from family members, friends, or experts when needed and remain courageous during difficult times. During the workshop, awareness was also raised about preventing suicidal thoughts and the importance of seeking immediate help when such thoughts arise. Ms. Mahabal encouraged students to prioritize their mental health and face life's challenges with positivity and courage. The workshop was informative, effective and impactful, providing students with essential knowledge about mental health and emotional well-being. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated this initiative taken by the Wellness Club team, Mrs. Supriya Sharma and Mrs. Mukti, stating that such topics are the need of the hour. She remarked that while life may be full of challenges, every problem has a solution. She urged students to adopt positive thinking, support one another and remain aware about mental health. Voter Registration Camps

*Motives:* 1. To create awareness among students about their constitutional right to vote and strengthen democratic participation as per directed by Department of Higher Education, Punjab. 2. To facilitate on-campus registration of eligible students (18+ years) in the electoral roll. *Outcomes:* 1. Registration of 36 eligible students as new voters. 2. Fostered civic consciousness, active citizenship, and a sense of constitutional responsibility among students towards nation-building. Report- In accordance with the initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Punjab, Voter Registration Camp was organized at Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala on 9th September 2026 under the aegis of the Electoral Literacy Club of the college to promote democratic awareness among students. The main objective of the camp was to facilitate the registration process for the first-time voters and to spread awareness about the importance of electoral participation in a democracy. During the camp, club volunteers guided the students through the online application process. Mrs. Jyoti Dhir, MC, Kapurthala graced the camp and was present to assist the students and oversee the registration process. Addressing the students Mrs. Jyoti Dhir highlighted the significance of a Voter ID card as a key identity document and encouraged them to avail government welfare schemes for health and social security. Similar Voter Registration camps were organised earlier on 19th August 2026 and 26th August 2026 which was supervised by Mrs Monika Goyal MC Kapurthala, Mr. Parmod Kumar, BLO Kapurthala and S. Rajinder Singh Dhanjal, MC, Kapurthala respectively. Principal Dr. Archna Garg appreciated the initiative of the Electoral Literacy Club and commended the team for their efforts in strengthening democratic values among youth. She emphasized that such camps play a vital role in empowering young citizens to become responsible voters and active participants in nation-building. Inter-Class Kho-Kho Competition to commemorate 'National Sports Day'

The Department of Physical Education and NSS Units of the College and Collegiate School organized an Inter-Class Kho-Kho Competition to commemorate 'National Sports Day'. Officiating Principal Dr. Kulwinder Kaur highlighted that the day honours Major Dhyan Chand and emphasized the role of sports in fostering physical fitness, self-confidence, leadership and positive personality development. Teams competed enthusiastically; Team A (Mary Kom) won with 33 points while Team B (P. V. Sindhu) finished runner-up with 29 points. Winners received medals. The event was coordinated by Miss Kamaljeet Kaur and attended by Dr. Ritu Gupta, Dr. Anupam Sabharwal, NSS Programme Officers of both College and Collegiate School namely, Dr. Amanjyoti, Dr. Suvit Das, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur, and Mrs. Mukti.
