The Department of Cosmetology of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala organized a workshop on the topic of 'Airbrush Party Makeup' on 23rd April 2026. The objective was to familiarize the students with new makeup techniques and raise awareness about the cosmetology subject. In this workshop, makeup expert Ms. Amandeep Kaur from Orane International, Kapurthala provided detailed information about makeup products to the students. Addressing the students and giving detailed information about makeup, she said that preparing the skin before using makeup products is very important; it cleans the skin pores; prepares the skin for makeup and results in a better makeup finish. She also gave a live demo of makeup in which she created a party makeup look. She satisfactorily answered the questions asked by the students. 730 | हिंदी भाषा प्रोत्साहन दिवस | 23-09-2025 | Approved | हिंदू कन्या कॉलेज, कपूरथला में दिनांक 23-09-2025 को हिंदी भाषा के महत्व और विकास को समर्पित 'हिंदी भाषा प्रोत्साहन समारोह' का आयोजन किया गया । समारोह में मुख्यातिथि के रूप में कॉलेज प्राचार्या डॉ. अर्चना गर्ग जी शोभायमान हुए । कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत विद्यालय गीत से हुई। पुष्पित अभिनंदन के बाद ज्योति प्रज्वलन की पावन रस्म अदा की गई। समारोह में आयोजित अन्तरकक्षा कविता उच्चारण प्रतियोगिता में छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लेते हुए हिंदी भाषा के प्रति सम्मान और समर्पण की अभिव्यक्ति दी गई । श्री गोपालदास नीरज, श्री हरिवंशराय बच्चन, राष्ट्रकवि श्री रामधारी सिंह दिनकर, अज्ञेय जैसे हिंदी के महान कवियों की कविताओं के साथ साथ कुछ छात्राओं ने स्वरचित कविताओं द्वारा हिंदी कविता की सशक्तता का परिचय दिया और अपनी रचनात्मकता तथा भावनात्मकता व्यक्त की । भाषा मंच के कन्वीनर डॉ. जसदीप कौर और डॉ. आईक्यूएसी को-ऑर्डिनेटर डॉ. ऋतु गुप्ता ने निर्णायक मंडल की अहम भूमिका निभाई । प्रतियोगिता में प्रीति कुमारी, बीए सेमेस्टर III ने पहला, किरणदीप कौर, बीकॉम सेमेस्टर I ने दूसरा और भूमिका, 10+2 नॉन मेडिकल ने तीसरा पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया । भूमिका, 10+2 कॉमर्स और तमन्ना, बीए सेमेस्टर I को प्रशंसा पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया ।इस अवसर पर हिंदी विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. कुलविंदर कौर और डॉ. तेजिंदर कौर ने भी स्वरचित कविताओं की खूबसूरत प्रस्तुति दी । प्राचार्या महोदया डॉ. अर्चना गर्ग जी ने कहा भाषा के बिना हम अधूरे हैं। मातृभाषा हमारे अस्तित्व की पहचान है और हमें अपने जीवन में उसे उतना ही महत्व देना चाहिए जितना हम अपनी माँ को देते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि आज के दौर में कंपेटेटिव परीक्षा के लिए भी भाषा बहुत एहमियत रखती है जिसके लिए भाषा का ज्ञान अति आवश्यक है । हिंदी विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. कुलविंदर कौर ने माननीय मुख्यातिथि महोदया के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया । मंच का संचालन हिंदी विभाग के सहायक प्रो. डॉ. तजिंदर कौर तथा बीए सेमेस्टर - I की छात्रा कु. कविता ने बाखूबी किया।

729 | District level RRC Competition | 18-02-2026 | Approved | Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services, Kapurthala, organized various Inter-College competitions under the aegis of the Red Ribbon Club on 18th February 2025. The event aimed at the all-round development of the students and providing a platform to showcase their talents. Shri Jaspal Singh, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Kapurthala, extended a warm verbal welcome to the guests and participants and stated that the participation in such competitions is the need of the hour and boosts students' confidence. Students from various institutions of Kapurthala and nearby areas actively participated in Poster Making, Slogan Writing, and Quiz Competitions, showcasing their talents. A Preliminary round was conducted for the Quiz, from which six teams advanced to the final round. On this occasion, District Sports Officer Shri Kulwinder Singh was specially present and judged the competitions. In the Slogan Writing Competition competition, Prajna from Lovely Professional University secured the first position, Maninder Kaur from Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala took the second position and Avneet Kaur from Guru Nanak College of Education, Kapurthala claimed the third position. In the Poster Making Competition, Sandeep Kaur from Bebe Nanki University College, Mithra won the first position, Ramandeep Kaur from Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala secured the second position and Kiranjeet Kaur from Bebe Nanki University College, Mithra and Arpanpreet Kaur from Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala shared the third position. In the Quiz, the team from Lovely Professional University got the first position, followed by the team from Guru Nanak College of Education, Kapurthala on the second position and the team from Hindu Kanya College on the third position. College Principal Dr. Archna Garg praised the efforts of the Red Ribbon Club Convener Mrs. Sarika Kanda and her team, stating that such activities are organized to hone students' talents. 728 | Awareness Talk on "Thalassemia" | 18-02-2206 | Approved | An Extension Lecture on 'Thalassemia' was organized by the Red Ribbon Club and Red Cross Club of Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala, with the aim of making students aware of their health. Dr. Surjeet Kaur, a renowned gynecologist, social worker, former President of the Inner Wheel Club of India Association and a prominent leader, graced the occasion as the Resource Person. On this occasion, Dr. Meena Sethi, President, Inner Wheel Club of Kapurthala and Mrs. Sonika Aggarwal, DESO, Inner Wheel Club of Kapurthala, were specially present. Addressing the students, Dr. Surjeet Kaur explained that Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder. In this condition, the body fails to produce sufficient or proper haemoglobin, leading to anemia or blood deficiency. She stated that it is inherited through genes from parents. She discussed the symptoms of this disease in detail and emphasized that testing before pregnancy and genetic counseling are extremely important for prevention. It can be prevented through timely testing and proper treatment. Report: "Woman's Power is the Power of the Entire Universe" : A spectacular 'Umang-2026' program dedicated to International Women's Day was held on March 7, 2026. Punjabi folk stage icon, Giddha Queen Smt. Sarbjeet Kaur Mangat, renowned actress, singer, dancer, TV anchor, writer, and cultural ambassador graced the function as the Chief Guest. Shri Tilak Raj Aggarwal, President of the College Managing Committee presided over the function. Students exceeding 17 colleges around Kapurthala exuberantly displayed their skills in Reel Making (11 Teams), Website Designing (7 Teams) and Pamphlet Designing (5 Teams).

Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala embarked an industrial visit to the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala on 28th February 2025. Led by Er. Neha Chopra, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Deepika Dhiman, Assitant Professsor, students from the department participated in this enriching experience. Mr. Pawan Kumar Dhiman, Demonstrator, explained the software applications and Automated Embedded Systems (Numerical Control) employed at RCF to the students. The visit provided hands-on knowledge of cutting-edge technologies to the students. Principal Dr.Archna Garg lauded the department's initiative, emphasizing the significance of such industrial visits in imparting practical knowledge and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

721 | One week Voter Registration Camp | 28 -1-2026 to 3-2-2026 | Approved | To encourage students to participate in the voting process by getting themselves registered online to make their Voter ID cards, the Electoral Literacy Club organized a One-Week Voter Registration Campaign from January 28 to February 3, 2026 in the college campus. Mrs. Varinder Kaur, Coordinator, Electoral Literacy Club along with club members, Mrs. Sapna Bhalla and Ms. Jasleen Kaur guided the students in this campaign. Student volunteers from the Club, namely Ms. Hardeep Kaur, Ms. Kavneet Kaur Walia, Ms. Preet Bala and Ms. Divya Jain, all students from B.A.- 4th Semester volunteered and helped students to make their Voter ID. 96 students got registered under this campaign.

The aim was to educate students about the importance of Voters' Day as well as the proper use of their votes. Addressing the students, the Convener of the Electoral Literacy Club, Mrs. Varinder Kaur, explained the significance of voting, stating that the right to vote is our constitutional right. She emphasized how every voter can contribute to steering the nation in the right direction through the responsible use of their vote. She appealed to the youth to cast their votes wisely and play an invaluable role in building a strong India. She also motivated the students to get their Voter IDs made. On this occasion, the students also took a pledge to exercise their voting rights. Kirat, a student from the Music Department, gave a beautiful rendition of the song to motivate the young volunteers.
